Alpha II is a standards-based classroom management system. This system enables teachers to meet the individual student needs in K-8 Math levels and 1st through 9th reading levels. It has been proven to be successful in K-12, Adult Education, and juvenile detention environments.
“It has helped me a lot because I can go at my own pace and not get behind. I enjoy it sometimes when I do something new. It’s not the same thing every time. I think it’s a very good program for alternative ed. Students because they are here because they didn’t get help they needed at a regular school.”
Students are placed within developmentally appropriate learning modules, assuring they will neither feel threatened, nor bored by assignments. They will enjoy a comfort level designed to create an atmosphere for daily success. Success becomes a common classroom theme. Students realize they are empowered and capable of achieving higher academic goals. Students no longer feel overwhelmed by assignments and find their daily classroom experience to be rewarding. Success is achieved through collaboration with the instructor, student, and Alpha II Learning Systems.
Don’t rely solely on technology and ‘pointing and clicking’ to provide a quality educational experience for students. Alpha II Learning Systems has never overlooked the Human Element – instructors and physical (non-virtual) resources. These resources are a combination of reputable, research-based reading materials, as well as teacher created math/language arts content. Alpha’s management methodology is supported by user-friendly software providing formative and summative testing, and provides detailed individual and group reporting. Diagnostic/formative assessments create realistic and appropriate placement within learning modules. Summative/mastery tests ensure student module proficiency while identifying specific areas of non-proficiency.
Looking for clarity and quality in your educational program? Alpha provides classroom management covering peer-reviewed, field-tested standards. Additionally, formative and summative assessments that offer a current snapshot and an overall view of student achievement and mastery are provided. Current data is communicated via individual and group reporting, and the ability to place students in appropriate learning modules is available upon student completion of the formative/diagnostic process. Individual and group reporting is available that will provide insight to initial placement and growth. Learning Resources include 5 basic mathematical components: Number & Operations, Measurement, Geometry, Data & Probability, and Algebra.
Alpha II continues to uphold its quality standards to ensure students obtain mastery knowledge of the particular subject. Alpha II math standards received a 3/3 score for clarity and specificity as well as an A Rating from the Fordham Institute Review.
Alpha II provides initial on-site training, professional development, and support via follow up visits, email, and phone. Our goal is to provide quality support for staff and students to ensure effective program implementation.
The Alpha II software provides a convenient process to implement assessment items in the following formats: multiple choice, True/False, Matching, and short answer. Each test item can be aligned to specific standards identifying areas of mastery and non-proficiency. The ability to determine proficiency by overall score, or per standard, is another feature. Please contact an Alpha II representative for details how we can assist in organizing and managing staff-created assessments.
